On our residential Rindge campus, we are looking for a full-time Mental Health Counselor to join our Counseling and Outreach team where our counseling staff make a positive impact to our students every day.This is an in-person position based in Rindge, NH.About Franklin Pierce University: Since its establishment in 1962, Franklin Pierce University has been a catalyst for the academic success and personal growth of numerous undergraduate and graduate students. To achieve this mission, we recognize the importance of fostering a diverse community comprised of exceptional individuals from various backgrounds, all dedicated to advancing our shared goals.Job Summary:Reporting to the Director of Counseling and Joint Health Services and working closely with other student support services, you will be responsible for implementing student development programs that will help our students develop life skills that are necessary to function on campus. You will also provide your skills and guidance to developing a variety of outreach methods to our student body.As part of the team, you will participate in an on-call rotation for student mental health emergencies. You will collaborate with faculty and staff over any student concerns to foster a supportive environment. You will also develop collaborative relationships with our community partners to create presentations and workshops for students.Skills and Qualifications:You will bring with you the following skills and qualifications that include:
  • A Masters degree in a counseling related field.
  • Be licensed, or be able to be licensed, in the State of New Hampshire as a LCMHC or LSW.
  • Have experience working with traditional college-aged students.
  • Have exceptional listening skills, and be able to effectively communicate with our students and other constituents.
  • Have experience working with a diverse population.
  • Must have experience and understanding of programs as they relate to client information, notes and diagnostics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products.
  • Ability to lift various materials up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis.
