Geosyntec Consultants has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Financial Analyst in Boca Raton, Florida.

In this role you will perform a variety of professional financial activities related to the annual operating budget, budget versus actual reporting, internal month-end accounting, and ad-hoc requests. This role will assist with mergers & acquisitions and financial projections & forecasts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development of internal and external financial reporting packages utilizing Power BI;
  • Develop and maintain financial forecasts and long-term projection models;
  • Perform "what - if" scenario analyses on certain macro and micro risk factors, conduct benchmarking exercises and various complex on the fly ad-hoc analyses;
  • Maintain a thorough and up-to-date understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, financial reporting requirements, and the general ledger structure to support company reporting needs;
  • Track divisional headcount changes and provide insight into the resulting financial impact;
  • Work closely with cross-functional business partners to understand and provide insights into financial performance; and
  • Support Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis with special projects, reporting and workflow process improvements and other duties as assigned.
Education and Licensure:
  • Bachelors degree in accounting or finance. (required)
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification (or currently pursuing). (preferred)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience with accounting and auditing preferred; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the responsibilities of the position. (required)
  • Experience in public accounting, private equity, public, or large private firm. (required)
  • Development of reporting through Power BI and dashboards. (required)
  • Working knowledge of mid-tier or higher accounting software & Microsoft Office. (required)
  • Strong Technical knowledge and demonstrated experience building complex forecasting models. (preferred)
  • A good understanding and experience with private debt facilities, reporting requirements and covenants. (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of system implementation. (preferred)
  • Has the capability to read and comprehend complex instructions, government regulations, correspondence, and memos. (preferred)
  • Ability to write complex correspondence and memos. (preferred)
  • Be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. (preferred)
  • Has the Capacity to understand advanced accounting principles, financial data, business plans, budget analysis, and financial reporting regulations. (preferred)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. (required)
