Pediatric Medical Billing

Large Pediatric group looking for a medical billing associate interested in being a valued member of our growing medical practice. This person must exercise good judgement and discretion with good verbal and written communication skills. Detail oriented and ability to prioritize workload with minimal direction and oversight. Must be familiar with all aspects of Revenue Cycle Management.

Job Summary:

• Must have at least 1 year hands on billing/coding experience
• Collect and enter visit charge and payment information
• Prepare patient’s statements monthly and answer inquiries on account status, charges, write offs,etc.
• Knowledge in EPIC software is preferred.
• Knowledge of referral processing is preferred.
• Estimate patient portion for procedures and collect amount before all outpatient visits
• Follows up with insurance company on unpaid or rejected claims. Resolves issue and re-submits claim. Writes appeal letters as necessary.
• May perform “soft” collections by notifying patient via mail and phone. Provides necessary information to billing manager for delinquent or past due accounts.
• Follows HIPAA guidelines in handling patient information.
• Assist front office staff in management of collection of deductibles at time of service and oversee balance collections at time of service
• Have familiarity with credit card on file and budget plans for overdue accounts
• Improve workflow processes to improve A/R
• Have great communication skills and provide excellent service to patients
• Ability to cross cover with Patient Services at front desk.
