Job Description
Job Title : Clinical Coordinator - RN Job Summary : Plans, directs, coordinates and evaluates the nursing care, general health and residential care of residents in Skilled Nursing Units of St. Catherine's Village according to the Department of Health Regulations; supervises all personnel assigned to the day shift; has cooperative relationships with the Charge Nurse, Head Nurse and Supervisor of other shifts in order to coordinate and assure the continuity of resident care; directs immediate response to emergency calls from residents in Independent Units during designated shifts; coordinates physician services for Residents; promotes team building through personal example, instruction, and team leadership. Education :
  1. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; current licensure with MBON. Certification in Gerontological Nursing preferred.
Work Experience :
  1. At least two years clinical experience with demonstrated skills in nursing and personnel management; strong administrative and leadership qualities desired; geriatric nursing experience or training is required.
Skills Abilities :
  1. BLS certified; ability to influence others through good leadership and to function well in stressful situations; sound judgment, good communication skills, both written and oral. Compassion and understanding of geriatric residents and families; ability to follow direction and to show initiative in resident care and personnel supervision.
License & Cert :
  1. Current licensure with MBON.
    1. Job Function :
      1. v Supports and interprets the Christian mission and philosophy of the Village and the philosophy and objectives of the department v Directs and organizes the resident care and Nursing Service activities, including IV therapy. v Keeps current in professional and technical areas pertaining to nursing and gerontology. v Serves on Village and Department committees as assigned. v Promotes communication and satisfaction with medical staff, residents and families. v Assists in documentation of departmental statistics and resident logs. v Insures that nursing practice guidelines are followed. v Assures smooth operation of nursing functions/communications among shifts and Director of Nursing. v Assures quality, accuracy and consistency of documentation and charges. v May function as Charge Nurse if the need arises. v Manages nursing services in skilled care. v Ensures effective, high quality operation of the nursing department according to standards established by the Board of Nursing, the Mississippi State Board of Licensure and Certification, and other pertinent agencies. v Defines and follows established guidelines for reporting and accountability in Siena Center. v Supports, interprets and implements approved Village and Departmental policies and procedures. v Maintains high standards of professional appearance for personnel and facilities. v Administers personnel policies uniformly and fairly. v Supervises and evaluates the performance of all employees with direct reporting relationship. v Ensures employee compliance and cooperation with Village/Department policies and procedures. v Operates the department in a manner of cost effectiveness and in keeping with established fiscal policy. v Performs other duties as assigned.
      2. v Must be able to lift, push, or transfer as resident needs require. v Must be able to walk or stand for extended periods of time. v Must be able to lift, carry, stand, bend, squat, crawl, reach and kneel using good body mechanics for sustained periods of time. v Must possess sight/hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met. v Must demonstrate emotional stability in order to cope with the physical, mental, and emotional stress of this position.
