VHS is searching for qualified Licensed Practical Nurses for a long-term opportunity in Baton Rouge, LA!
In partnership with a Baton Rouge disease management clinic, VHS is looking for qualified LPNs for a long-term contract. Looking for both Full Time and Part Time candidates to complete our team. This position would rotate from Monday - Friday 8am-4:30pm when no active patients are in the clinic and switch to 24/7 Sunday- Saturday rotation when patients are checked in. VHS will work to build a fair and equitable schedule.
Shift Description:

• September 2023 stars date
• M-F 8am-4:30pm (No active patient stays)
• 24/7 rotation Sunday- Saturday (Active on-site patient stay)
• Approximately 32 hours per week
• 12-month contract with option to renew up to 5 years

Practice Description:

• Orient patients that arrive to the NHDP who will have short-term stays in the domiciliary area.
• Prepare and remind the patient of all appointments, diagnostic procedures and specialized tests as ordered by the physician. The nursing staff shall provide verbal prompts to assist outpatients in readiness for medical appointments.
• Follow the prescribed plan of care by the NHDP providers and report adverse effects to the NHDP social worker Clinical Branch Chief, as needed.
• Assist outpatients with their pre-operative and/or post-operative surgical instructions, such as recuperative phases of surgery, perform ongoing assessments, provide status updates to the NHDP social worker Clinical Branch Chief, perform wound care and dressing changes, perform nasal and eye irrigations, and dispense medications that were ordered for the patient for the procedure, if needed.
• Reinforce and support outpatients who present or have cognitive and/or physical impairments. The NHDP allows for caregivers to assist patients who do not have the capacity to provide for their own activities of daily living; Nursing staff may assist, as needed.

Position Requirements:

• Full, active, unencumbered license in a state, territory, or commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or District of Columbia
• Graduate of a board approved practical nursing program
• 3 years nursing experience
• BLS

Compensation Package:
$26 per hour 11 paid holidays & benefits for Full Time candidates
