R&D Engineer II
The R&D Engineer II role is based out of Boston. The role works within the Fleet Management team which is part of the Product Development group within the broader Robotics Center of Excellence. The Hugo robotic platform is the primary product we support and work with.
The Fleet Management team is tasked with oversight, maintenance, repair, and support for our global R&D fleet of Hugo robotic assets.
This role includes a variety of responsibilities. Approximately 80% of an average week is spend working directly on the capital hardware – performing repairs to damaged sub-systems, investigating faults, completing planned maintenance and software upgrades. A mixture of hands-on aptitude as well as moderate comfort working with software systems is required. During an average week the remaining 20% of time is spent updating documentation and paperwork or supporting other responsibilities of the Fleet Management team such as ordering parts via internal purchasing system or coordinating logistics of the hardware when movement from site to site is needed.
This role requires on site work and offers limited opportunity for remote work. Once an employee is fully onboarded and able to work independently, remote work is acceptable one day a week. Work is typically completed during first shift, ~9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, 40 hours/week. Minor adjustments to hours are a possibility if necessary.
