KINSHIP NAVIGATOR PROGRAM MANAGER

Job Status: Full-time 

Job Summary: The Kinship Navigator Manager provides direct program supervision, human resource oversight, program planning and implementation, quality assurance controls, and staff training to FosterAdopt Connect’s Kinship Navigator program. This program assists caregivers with understanding, navigating, and accessing the system of out-of-home care supports and services for children for the purpose of strengthening the family while promoting stability for the abused and neglected children in their care. 

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

Administrative Leadership

  • Supervise the Kinship Navigator program resulting in quality service delivery
  • Responsible for employee satisfaction and teamwork within the department
  • Conduct supervisory meetings with staff at least monthly to provide continual support, guidance, and work product evaluation/feedback
  • Complete timely probationary/annual employee evaluations
  • Ensure all documentation is accurately entered and promptly completed in the SAM database system
  • Identify training needs and professional development of staff
  • Monitor the workload of staff, adjusting as needed
  • Assist staff with caregiver visits and follow up meetings
  • Ensure caregivers are given proper support and advocacy
  • Coordinate with the training department on support groups and appropriate training for Caregivers
  • Coordinate semiannual family caregiver events for networking and social experiences
  • Provide assistance to accept referrals from the community via phone, email, and walk-ins of kinship parents needing help
  • Accept interdepartmental referrals
  • Review and approve Kinship caregiver narratives, action plans, and documentation
  • Travel required to attend or present trainings and attend meetings within surrounding counties, with or without accommodation
  • Occasional travel within Missouri to attend and/or present in-service training, to conduct training/presentations
  • Attend trainings, court and meetings and actively participate in all leadership meetings
  • Make community connections to increase program referrals. 
  • Compose quarterly newsletters to community partners of program updates
  • Contribute on an organizational level with a focus on agency culture, cultural competency, and performance improvement outcomes
  •  Participate in staff meetings and assist other programs
  • Participate in task forces, in-services, trainings, and other community educational networking opportunities to educate others about FosterAdopt Connect’s programs and to promote partnerships and sponsorships
  • Model ethical and professional behavior at all times

Outcome Planning/PQI

  • Implement, lead, and measure a continuous quality improvement throughout the program and service areas in his/her purview
  • Review client files quarterly for ongoing quality assurance measures
  • Participate in quarterly client audit reviews; make updates/changes

Financial Management

  • Oversee budget performance to ensure fiscally sound operations that meet budget expectations
  • Manage effectively within approved budget, and report accurately on progress made and challenges encountered
  • Complete month end reports 
  • Assist with grant planning, tracking and execution
  • Participate in annual budget planning process

Strategic Planning

  • Provide vital input in short- and long-term strategic and operational planning, evaluation and positioning

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Degree preferred) in social work, psychology, public administration, or a related human services field and three (2 ) years of experience working in non-profit social service agencies with management experience (2 years preferred)
  • Previous child welfare experience required; two (2) years preferred
  • Previous experience working with at-risk populations
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and proposing new ways of creating efficiencies
  • Outstanding organizational and planning skills
  • Solid commitment to the principles of support and advocacy for relative and kinship families. Personal experience or connection is preferred
  • The ability to collaborate and advocate for positive outcomes, using excellent interpersonal skills in multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic professional teams
  • Strong verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to write clearly and persuasively
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills. Must have ability to quickly establish rapport and build trust
  • Core understanding of program development, implementation, and evaluation 
  • Flexible self-starter; able to multi-task while also being highly detail-oriented
  • Experience working with marginalized communities with a nuanced understanding of systemic oppressions
  • Able to shift styles to fit the needs of a wide range of cultures, people, and organizations
  • Flexible in work hours including some evening and weekends
