Qualifications

What you'll do as an Order Entry Specialist

* Manage the receipt, resolution, and association of written/faxed/electronic prescriptions or refill requests in the pharmacy management system.

* Accurately enter medication orders and process new prescriptions and refills.

* Pro-actively handle non-clinical customer inquiries, functioning as the primary resource in handling questions from routine to complex in a fast-paced call center environment.

* Comply with all applicable government regulations, standards of practice, company policies, procedures, and patient protocols.

* Take part in quality improvement programs to meet company and accreditation standards.

What we need

* Current unencumbered license in the state of practice: Certified Pharmacy Technician (certification not required for Illinois Pharmacy Technicians licensed before 2008).

* Experience in a specialized pharmacy order-entry environment and/or long-term pharmacy required.

* Excellent math, computer, communication, and interpersonal skills required.

* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
