JOB SUMMARY :

The Temporary Youth Worker program is to help students gain experience in the workplace. The Youth Worker will assist with administrative and clerical support to the staff of the Information Technology Department in a temporary capacity. THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION, UP TO 29 HOURS PER WEEK, WITH DURATION UP TO 90 DAYS. THERE ARE NO BENEFITS INCLUDED WITH THIS POSITION.

• The Temporary Employee will assist staff and will have the opportunity to learn about the Information Technology Department and gain a valuable overview of the department.
• The Temporary Employee will assist with gathering, compiling, collecting, and documenting the essential data related to the Department and perform various other tasks in support of the Departments goals and objectives.
• Examines, verifies and inputs data into computer systems.
• Researches and analyzes historical data.
• Assists with answering incoming telephone calls and directs to appropriate person.
• Prepares and scans documents with efficiency and attention to detail.
• Supports and assists department staff as needed.

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Minimum of sixteen years of age.
• Experience with word-processing, spreadsheets, database management, and internet programs/applications is required.
• Applicants must be detail-oriented and able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Applicants must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as good organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively with the public, other County employees, elected officials and co-workers.
• Self-starter skills.

SALARY: $15.00 per hour, Up to 29 hours per week

DURATION: Temporary, Up to 90 days
