JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for strategically designing programs, projects and initiatives that achieve the Behavioral Health Services Department mission and quality for grant funding. Provides specific focus on grant administration, research, application, documentation, audit readiness, project planning, and all other aspects of grant management. Coordinates financial compliance and grant budget activities. Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for own work group and department.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates grant projects, including project planning, research, grant budget development, and project close-outs.
  • Prepares grant applications/submissions
  • Designs effective programs, projects and initiatives that exhibit high probability of success.
  • Compiles data, prepares and submits reports as required to fulfill grant conditions.
  • Submits periodic grant reports to local, state, and federal agencies as required by grant guidance.
  • Assists with the development and submission of purchasing requisitions for grant projects.
  • Develops specifications for purchases of equipment and services required.
  • Provides assistance and coordination between local, state, and federal agencies to ensure grant compliance and audit readiness.
  • Attends local and regional meetings involving grant management and administration.
  • Utilizes web-based grant management systems to develop, submit, document, and close-out grant projects.
  • Maintains documentation to provide redundancy to the electronic system.
  • Provides grant status documentation to include written and oral reports as needed.
  • Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Education, Management, Business Administration, Criminal Justice Management, Accounting, Social Sciences, Economics, Statistics, Psychology, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Three years job related experience.
  • Knowledge of state and federal grant systems preferred.
  • Strong computer and typing skills.
  • Basic accounting and auditing ability.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications with the ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees and elected officials.
  • Experience meeting deadlines is critical.

SALARY RANGE: $27.69 - $34.61 hourly based on qualifications

CLOSING DATE: Upon filling both positions
