Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree with experience in Counseling Services
General ResponsibilitiesThe Educational Consultant - counseling and Title IV Mental and Behavioral Health, shall be directly responsible to the Chief Federal Programs Officer. The Educational Consultant shall assist member schools, teachers, parents and community in improving, enriching, expanding, and delivering instructional services and supports.
  • Plan, develop, conduct, and/or facilitate staff development activities for introducing and demonstrating innovative instructional techniques and methods.
  • Plan, develop, conduct, and/or facilitate staff development to meet grant requirements.
  • Collaboratively plan, develop and/or facilitate staff development for ESC (Education Service Center) and LEA's (Local Education Agencies).
  • Actively participate as a member of the ESC/LEA team and within the appropriate Professional Learning Community (PLC).
  • Assist with compiling, analyzing, and/or interpreting data, such as student performance in relation to state standards and program support.
  • Secure the aid of resource persons and consultants to supplement and enrich programs of local schools.
  • Assist with the development of procedures for evaluating the effectiveness of service center programs and recommend modifications as needed to attain ESC goals.
  • Keep abreast of current instructional practices and techniques, professional literature, and state and federal regulations related to job responsibilities.
  • Acquire, develop, and demonstrate new skills by participating in professional growth activities in cross-functioning teams.
  • Maintain open communication and confidentiality in accordance with the Texas Professional Standards of Ethics.
  • Assist LEA's with enriching and improving student performance, effectively using elements of the planning process which include assessment, goal setting, objective development, resources, identification, timeline establishment, and evaluation design.
  • Exhibit a professional demeanor when communicating with clients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Federal Programs Officer and/or other ESC administration.
Specific Responsibilities
  • Attend meetings as required by the State in the grant program areas served.
  • Attend any other meetings and training as required by the grant program.
  • Participate in Federal Programs Professional Learning Community (PLC) and participate in other ESC PLC's as assigned.
  • Work collaboratively with districts to support counseling services and Mental/Behavioral Health needs.
  • Locate and/or disseminate instructional materials, resources and training to counselors, and other LEA staff members.
  • Plan, develop, conduct, facilitate, and/or coordinate staff development activities relating to assigned projects for ESC and LEA's based on stakeholder needs.
  • Deliver timely training and updates on topics specified by the State to LEAs.
  • Provide training and technical assistance as required by the grant program assigned.
  • Provide training and technical assistance to districts and charters in the grant program areas assigned
  • Provide training and technical assistance needed by LEA staff.
  • Provide LEAs with information, staff development and/or technical assistance in addressing state and federal mandates.
  • Work collaboratively with and assist ESC consultants in staff development and other job-related activities.
  • Evaluate and improve the effectiveness of assigned roles and responsibilities in projects/programs, LEA's, ESC and PLC.
  • Participate in training as required by administration in order to provide outstanding service to all stakeholders served in Region 18.
  • Consult with PLC administrator regularly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Federal Programs Officer and/or other ESC administration.
