Overview

The Bilingual Accountant will act as a liaison between our Mexico City and United States offices where our centralized accounting team is located. They will be responsible for accounting as well as reporting for the billing functions of Foley’s Mexico City office.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with our internal Accounting, Finance and Billing teams as well as staying engaged with our external accounting firm
• Assist with all aspects of the operational accounting for the Mexico City Office, including:
  • Complete monthly payroll entries, including the payroll tax process
  • Track and report on overall invoice process, which includes coordinating with our billing team and reconciling the required Factura’s, a statutory requirement in Mexico
  • Coordinate the Value Added Tax (VAT) process in collaboration with the external accounting firm team
• Facilitate meetings and follow ups with Foley’s outside accounting firm
• Weigh in on critical issues/key deadlines, and escalating concerns as appropriate to hold our external accountants accountable
• Monitor payments, collaborating with the firm’s billing team, and reporting
• Serve as a primary contact for the Office Manager, Office Managing Partner and Partners in Foley’s Mexico City office
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in English & Spanish
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
• Minimum of three (3) years of accounting experience
• Exposure to Tax Code and Laws in Mexico preferred
• Experience working with a company who has operations in Mexico preferred
• Prior experience in an accounting firm strongly preferred
