FloSports is creating the home for sports like hockey, track & field, racing, grappling, wrestling, cheer and more, and we are looking for innovative and passionate people like you to help us!THE ROLE:We seek a dynamic and experienced Senior Director of Event Technology Operations to lead our streaming and broadcast engineering teams and oversee our sports media streaming operations. As a vital member of our organization, the Senior Director will collaborate closely with our live event production and technology teams to ensure seamless integration of technology solutions for our sports media events.RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead, mentor, and manage a team of streaming and broadcast engineers, operations personnel, and stream monitors by providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional development.Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence within the team and cross-functional teams.Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of streaming operations and broadcast technology infrastructure for live sports events.Design and spec in-venue equipment and connectivity solutions, including acquisition, scoring, graphics, audio, encoding, and stream connectivity.Ensure the delivery of high-quality streaming and broadcast services, meeting industry standards and exceeding customer expectations.Stay abreast of emerging technologies and streaming and broadcast engineering trends, implementing best practices to enhance our capabilities.Manage the day-to-day operations of our streaming platform, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues in real time.Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for streaming operations, ensuring efficiency and reliability.Implement robust incident management processes to minimize downtime and optimize service availability.Partner closely with the live event production team to integrate technology solutions seamlessly into our sports media events, ensuring flawless execution.Collaborate with the technology team to align event operations with our broadcast chain and overall company objectives and strategic initiatives.Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders, facilitating effective communication and understanding of requirements.Develop and manage the event technology operations budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to support business objectives.Identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements within the technology operations function.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: A bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.Minimum of 8 years of experience in event technology operations, with at least five years in a leadership role.Proven track record of success in managing streaming and broadcast engineering teams and operations.Deep understanding of streaming technologies, broadcast systems, and operations, preferably in the sports technology industry.
