Responsibilities - Conducting research in the area of real-time surgical simulation technology
- Developing novel simulation algorithms and techniques for surgical training and planning
- Collaborating with the faculty members and researchers from the FAMU-FSU COE and other institutions to advance the field of surgical simulation
- Writing grant proposals and securing external funding
- Publishing research findings in high-quality journals and presenting research results at conferences and seminars
- Mentoring graduate students and postdoctoral researchers
Qualifications - Doctoral degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Experience in C/C programming, computer graphics, haptics, and physics-based real-time computing
- Proficiency in finite element modeling and simulation.
- Substantial experience with computational fracture mechanics.
- Knowledge of machine learning, deep learning and libraries including but not limited to TensorFlow and/or PyTorch, Scikit-Learn, Pandas, etc.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other faculty members and researchers from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong publication record in relevant areas of research.
- Demonstrated ability to secure external funding.
- Experience in mentoring graduate students and postdoctoral researchers is preferred.
