Diesel Mechanic (Veteran Preferred)

Job Summary: As a Diesel Mechanic, you will utilize your specialized skills and experience gained during your military service to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines and related components. Your technical expertise, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence will ensure the optimal performance and reliability of diesel equipment. This position is open to veterans with experience in Army MOS 91B or a related field.

Responsibilities:

  1. Apply your knowledge and skills in diesel mechanics gained from your military experience to diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain diesel engines and related systems.
  2. Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and engine tune-ups to identify potential issues and ensure efficient engine operation.
  3. Diagnose and repair engine malfunctions using your expertise in troubleshooting techniques and specialized tools and equipment.
  4. Repair or replace defective engine components, such as fuel systems, cooling systems, electrical systems, transmissions, and brakes, employing your comprehensive understanding of diesel engines.
  5. Conduct engine overhauls and rebuilds, following manufacturers' specifications and utilizing your expertise in engine rebuilding techniques.
  6. Perform regular maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks, in accordance with recommended schedules.
  7. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed, including service reports, parts used, and time spent.
  8. Adhere to safety protocols and comply with industry standards and regulations when handling diesel fuel, hazardous materials, and working with electrical systems.
  9. Stay updated on the latest advancements in diesel engine technology and repair techniques through continuous learning and training opportunities.
  10. Foster a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly maintained.

Requirements:

  1. Military veteran with experience in Army MOS 91B (Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic) or a related field.
  2. Strong knowledge of diesel engine principles, systems, and components acquired through military training and experience.
  3. Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engine issues, including mechanical, electrical, and fuel system malfunctions, using skills obtained during military service.
  4. Solid understanding of vehicle systems and components, such as transmissions, brakes, cooling systems, and electrical systems.
  5. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams related to diesel engines and vehicle systems.
  6. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
  7. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and safety protocols accurately.
  8. Excellent mechanical aptitude and proficiency in using specialized tools and equipment.
  9. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
  10. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  11. ASE certifications in diesel engine repair or related fields are preferred.
