Position Overview
FleishmanHillard, a global integrated communications agency delivering transformational outcomes for some of the world's biggest brands has an immediate opening for a hands-on, self-starting Managing Supervisor with a background in corporate communications, and financial services (ideally banking) to join the New York office. This position provides a fantastic opportunity for a communications professional with 7 years' experience to work with the C-Suite for one of the largest financial institutions in the U.S. and manage a dynamic, high-performing earned media team.

The Role
  • Have existing strong relationships with national, trade, and industry-related business and finance media
  • Proactively identify media opportunities and trends to strategically position the client as a leader in the financial industry
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and influencers to enhance the client's reputation
  • Draft and disseminate press briefs, key messaging documents, press releases, pitches and other communications materials
  • Serve as a point of contact for clients and journalists, including onsite media staffing and coaching for executives
  • Collaborate with marketing stakeholders and inter-agency teams to build integrated campaigns, including sponsored content, broadcast, and events
  • Monitor media coverage, track industry trends, and prepare reports to evaluate the effectiveness of media relations efforts
  • Stay informed of regulatory changes and industry developments to anticipate potential media issues and proactively address them
  • LinkedIn executive thought leadership ghost writing
  • Conduct media trainings for senior executives
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field
  • 7 years of experience in media relations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey financial concepts and products in a clear and concise manner
  • Demonstrated success in securing positive media coverage and managing crisis communications
  • Proven ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with journalists and influencers
  • Experience managing integrated marketing Public Relations campaigns to promote business goals
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

The anticipated salary range for the Managing Supervisor position is $71,000-$125,000.
Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications and geography. A range of medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid time off and/or other benefits also are available.
