Objective:

Onsite/Hybrid Position in San Marcos, CA.

We are looking for our next leader as we expand our Third-Party Relationships and the diversity of programs offered.

The President is responsible for the overall direction and administration of programs, partnerships, products, and services provided by the Bank, including the Banks financial performance, partner management, credit quality, business development, operations, regulatory compliance, and risk management. The position ensures that all aspects of the Bank's activities operate in a safe and sound manner.

Responsibilities/Duties:

Leadership and Strategic Vision

  • Provide strategic leadership encompassing business planning, sales, partner management, and financial stewardship.
  • Develop and execute both short and long-term strategic plans ensuring positive growth in equity, profits, balance sheet and partners.

Board Relations and Reporting

  • Report directly to the Board of Directors, ensuring alignment with approved objectives and tasks.
  • Act as a liaison, keeping the Board informed on bank operations and critical influencing factors.

Policy Formulation and Compliance Oversight

  • Recommend policies and programs to the Board that align with bank objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with banking laws and regulations while assessing the impact of changes and promptly communicating them to the Board.
  • Prepare and maintain such policies and procedures as required by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and the State of California Department of Business & Oversight, Division of Financial Institutions.

Financial Oversight and Planning

  • Drive financial performance, analyze budget variances, and manage the asset/liability program.
  • Develop annual operating budgets and strategic plans for effective financial performance.

Risk Management and Credit Quality Assurance

  • Oversee partner program to ensure third-party risk is identified, mitigated, managed, and addressed as relevant and appropriate by partner.
  • Oversee lending portfolios, ensuring adherence to loan policies, and advising on risk assessment.
  • Monitor credit risk and manage and report delinquencies and loss reserves to the Board.

Organizational Culture and Workforce Management

  • Communicate and instill the bank's vision and culture among staff and management.
  • Ensure a well-trained and informed workforce, conducting periodic performance reviews and goal setting.
  • Direct and appraise the performance of executive officers and relevant committees.

Business Development and Community Engagement

  • Engage in business development activities, fostering partnerships and promoting the bank's vision.
  • Represents the bank in community and CRA functions, contributing to CRA goals.
  • Provide analysis and recommendations for new business opportunities, new products, and new services, including tools for measurement, decision making and accountability in accordance with Company policies, procedures, applicable laws, rules, regulations, and regulatory guidance.
Essential Functions:

While performing the essential functions of this position, the incumbent is subject to sedentary work for extended periods of time. Some mobility in order to access files and attend meetings is necessary. The incumbent must be able to operate a computer terminal and office equipment and communicate and exchange information to internal and external customers.

Knowledge - Skills & Abilities:
  • BS in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field required.
  • MBA preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of banking experience. Work related experience must consist of management experience in the financial services industry.
  • Candidate should have a proven track record of leading successful teams to achieve results.
  • Experience and understanding of the Fintech space & Banking as a Service (BaaS)
  • Significant knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, and other Bank operational and lending policies.
  • Advanced knowledge of Bank policies and procedures, and the Banks products and services.
  • Advanced knowledge of general accounting, payroll, budgeting, and related accounting and record keeping systems in a financial institution
  • Ability to simplify and communicate abstract concepts.
  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the strong ability to carry out instructions and instruct others, train personnel, read, analyze, and interpret documents and professional journals, understand procedures, write reports, correspondence, and procedures, speak clearly to customers and employees.
  • Thorough understanding of management procedures; ability to plan department or Bank activities (setting objectives, developing strategies, budgeting, and developing policies and procedures); initiative to organize various functions necessary to accomplish department or Bank activities; effectively staff (selecting, training and developing employees); directing employees towards the desired objectives (delegating, motivating, resolving problems); and controlling the function (developing performance standards, measuring results, taking corrective action and rewarding employees as appropriate).
  • Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
  • Advanced math skills, ability to calculate interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages, balance accounts, add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, locate routine mathematical errors, and compute rate, ratio, and percent, including the drafting and interpretation of bar graphs.

Pay Range: $187,000.00 to $263,000.00 per year. Pay range may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
