As a Senior Staff Software Engineer, focusing on front end development, at findhelp, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our platform that seamlessly integrates our nationwide system of social-services. Serving on a cross-functional development team as well as focused front end projects, you'll collaborate closely with various teams and departments to ensure the delivery of top-tier products for our users. You will lead engineering efforts through a combination of a positive attitude, exemplary work ethic, and significant contributions to both the technical and cultural facets of engineering, all underpinned by a deep understanding of user impact.
Responsibilities and Duties:
    • Work within a team and across teams to accomplish our mission of helping others
    • Consistently write quality code with the end user in mind
    • Architect for robustness, extensibility, scale, sustainability, and security
    • Provide quality feedback in code reviews and willing to pair on coding tasks
    • Someone who works to understand the user's story to design intuitive experiences
    • Own work from inception to delivery, and beyond
    • Refactor legacy code as you create new features
    • Mentor other engineers and foster their growth
Qualifications:
    • 8 years of UI focused development working with React and templating technology such as Jinja.
    • A strong understanding of javascript when not used in a framework
    • A strong testing ethic and an understanding of quality tests and testing platforms.
    • Experience migrating UIs from other frameworks or templating systems
    • Excellent technical writing and communication skills
    • Experience writing technical designs and breaking down complex features to consistently deliver value
    • Comfortable working independently in a legacy codebase and able to guide on refactoring
    • Interested in mentoring others and fostering individual growth
    • You make commitments and keep them
    • Experience generalizing a feature to widen the impact
    • Ability to communicate technical needs and solutions to product partners
    • Experience meeting WCAG compliance and able to discuss a11y principles
$110,707 - $138,384 a year
The compensation for this position will be based on a candidate's job-related skills, experience, education or training, and location.
