Hoover Custom Tops is seeking a Sales & Design Associate to join our growing operation. Hoover Custom Tops is an industry leader in natural stone, engineered stone and solid surface countertops. As a member of the team, you will have the opportunity to help customers bring their dream kitchens, baths, and other living spaces to life.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Completion of order entries and proposals
  • Generate design solutions and perspectives for customers using available software
  • Current knowledge of all products
  • Assist walk-in customers and maintain existing client profiles
  • Estimating: take offs and proposals
  • Accuracy of drawings, send amendments, if necessary
  • Invoicing and collection of accounts receivable
  • Retail tickets: preparation and material knowledge
  • Regular visitation of customers
  • Gathering information from prospects, assessing needs, providing creative design concepts to meet needs, and presenting ideas in a compelling way.
  • Collection of cutout information and maintaining missing information list
  • Attend functions, as necessary
  • Conduct education classes at dealers’ location
  • Accept personal ownership of customer satisfaction by resolving issues or inquiries
  • Meet or exceed all sales goals set by company leadership
  • Work alongside Operations Manager, ensuring accuracy in customer order documentation, scheduling, and communication.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and other Hoover Custom Tops team members.

To ensure success as a Sales & Design Associate you should have:

  • PC literacy to include Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in countertop estimation software preferred
  • Three or more years of sales experience is required. Design/interior design, retails and/or kitchen and bath remodeling experience preferred.
  • One year minimum of customer service in retail, interior design, kitchen and bath remodeling, or construction / builder environment.
  • Willingness to accommodate after-hours appointments for customers as needed.
  • Ability to learn and follow the Hoover Custom Tops’ processes and procedures.

EDUCATION High school diploma or general education degree (GED); .

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS The position will require the following physical activities on a regular basis; Standing, sitting, walking, talking, hearing and handling. The maximum amount of weight required to be lifted will be less than 25 pounds. There are no special vision requirements.

WORK ENVIRONMENT Indoors in a temperature-controlled environment but also requires being outdoors on a frequent basis during all seasons and weather conditions. The typical noise level for this job is moderate.
