The Marketing and Communications Assistant performs a variety of writing, editorial and administrative duties to support the operations of Marketing and Communications on behalf of the Agency and its programs and services. Using strong writing, editing and proofreading skills, familiarity with social media platforms and electronic news distribution, and experience with various media outlets, the position represents the organization in a warm, yet professional manner when working with members, clients, staff, board members, donors, media and outside organizations, always consistent with our organization’s tone and mission.

Marketing and Communications Assistant Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the planning, execution, and completion of various marketing projects.
  • Produce social media and web graphics utilizing software including Adobe Suite & Canva.
  • Facilitate community engagement through monitoring, responding, and interacting with online audiences.
  • Utilize Monday.com to assist the department in tracking marketing projects, ensuring timelines are met.
  • Analyze account engagement metrics to accurately measure performance.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure project milestones are met on time and within budget.
  • Maintain project documentation, track progress, and report regularly on project status.
  • Provide regular reports and insights to Director of Marketing and Communications weekly and Sr. Leadership when requested.
  • Support campaign launches with list creation, research, and prospecting responsibilities.
  • Ensure consistency and adherence to brand guidelines across all marketing materials.
  • Conduct regular market research for new events and campaigns.
  • Keep current on trends, best practices, new/emerging platforms, and algorithm updates.
  • Maintain a well-organized database of digital assets, press texts and brand communication tools across all categories.
  • Report on monthly metrics utilizing Google Analytics.
  • Analyze web traffic to accurately measure performance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university in journalism, English, marketing, communications or similar related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1-2 years’ experience; nonprofit experience preferred.
  • Excellent organization and time management abilities
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for marketing and communications.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite.
