TERMS

This is a year-round position that requires attendance on site (12 months).

Reporting to Principal

Preferred Skills and Experiences

  • Ability to speak, read, write and understand the Spanish language
  • Commitment to student centered learning
  • Familiarity with Lavinia curriculum and instructional approach

Instructional Leadership

  • Demonstrate a relentless commitment to improve the minds and lives of students in and out of school;
  • Support strategic school systems, culture, and vision,
  • Collaborate with the Principal, Assistant Principal, and Grade Team Teacher Leaders to cultivate a culture of consistent student work study and data analysis to inform instruction and accelerate learning
  • Use data from assessments to inform decisions;
  • Facilitate curriculum development, differentiation, and assessment
  • Teach and model targeted small group instruction to accelerate learning for academic gap intervention enrichment, and agency.

Professional development:

  • Support and guide instructional staff to provide well-managed, rigorous, and differentiated daily lessons, and reasonable and effective daily homework
  • Develop teacher capacity to analyze and respond to trends in student work and assessments to improve teaching, learning, and student outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of weekly job embedded professional development agendas and support their execution;

Performance Evaluation

  • Conduct teacher observations and provide actionable feedback to accelerate learning and improve student growth and achievement
  • Using data from assessments (e.g., NWEA MAP, Interim Academic Challenges)
  • Student work study analysis and observation of work habits.
  • Support teachers to meet a high bar for student performance including :
  • requirements for special education accommodations and IEP modifications in partnership with the Special Education Coordinator.
  • requirements for ELL services provided to classified ELL students and overseeing the proper administration of Annual Nysitell and Nyseslat exams, in partnership with the ELL Coordinator
  • Participate actively in annual evaluation of your performance, including timely and high-quality execution of all steps in the evaluation process.

  • Communicate proactively and effectively with all stakeholders;

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
