MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be fluent in Spanish, preferably certified as a medical interpreter. Previous healthcare experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

· Bilingual Spanish skills

· Effective verbal and written communication skills.

· Medical/behavioral health terminology

· Computer proficiency and ability to quickly learn new applications

· Ability to ensure privacy

· Strong organizational skills

· Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

· Work effectively with a wide range of responsibilities

· Detail oriented

· Maintain professional appearance and conduct at all times

· Establish and maintain effective working relationships with providers, staff and management

· Document work processes as necessary.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

  1. Accompany provider into the counseling visit with the patient and accurately interpret the counseling session between the patient and provider.
  2. Perform any ancillary duties required by the provider during and after the visit.
  3. When not working as an interpreter, will perform duties as assigned by the care manager coordinator which could include but are not limited to:
    1. Work on reports
    2. Assist staff in the clinic with miscellaneous tasks and processes.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. No or very limited physical effort required. No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
