Location: Mount Vernon Family Health
City: Mount Vernon, WA
Position: Full-time Weekdays 40 hours/week, non-exempt (hourly)
Compensation: The full wage scale for Clinical Lead, MA-C is $23.97 - $33.36 per hour. The full wage scale for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is $26.44 - $36.86 per hour. Placement within the wage range is determined by the candidate's relevant experience.
Bonus: Candidates are eligible to receive a sign-on bonus of $3,000 when accepting a full-time position (0.75 - 1.0 FTE) or $1,500 when accepting a part-time position (0.5 - 0.74 FTE)(Subject to payback clause). Additionally, employees are eligible annually to participate in discretionary bonus programs, as determined by FCN, which include the Years-of-Service bonus program, the Quality Performance bonus program, and the Performance Recognition bonus program.
Job Summary: This position is responsible for providing quality patient care within the appropriate scope of practice while adhering to FCN company policies and standards. This role also provides leadership to clinical staff as assigned by the Practice manager. Actual duties are site-specific, and may include some or all of the duties listed below.
Leadership:
  • Clinical Excellence: Performs the clinical skill set of the MA-C/LPN role per FCN standards and act as a mentor as needed for staff to achieve competency.
  • Attends scheduled clinical leadership meetings to review Regulatory, performance, clinical, legal/ethical or process concerns.
  • Actively participates in and promotes FCN Initiatives.
  • Schedule staff as directed.
  • Participates in appropriate meetings and committees. (ie: CDC / Public Health updates, Clinical Department in services, Risk management meetings if assigned).
  • Participate in clinical staff meetings with the Practice manager or other departments if appropriate.
  • Review and approve timecards as directed by the Practice manager
Performance Observation:
  • Assist with timely completion of new hire clinical training competency form.
  • Assist with ensuring demonstration and observation of operational procedures that are site-specific are completed within the 90 days.
Additional Duties:
  • Provides patients with support and/or treatment over the phone as directed by provider(s).
  • Perform delegated functions using established procedures, policies, guidelines, and standards per FCN standards and Washington State Dept of Health scope of practice guidelines.
  • Utilize clinical knowledge and critical thinking skills in delivering safe, effective and therapeutic care of the patient per FCN standards.
  • Responds to patient phone messages, and processes requests, refills (within clinic protocols), and referrals in a timely manner.
  • Employee seeks assistance as needed and communicates questions in a timely manner and to appropriate staff.
  • Demonstrates competency in assisting providers as needed in procedures, visits and management of patient flow.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Understand site-specific flow, protocol & processes: Clinics-specific processes are understood and followed, and when uncertain will seek assistance.
  • Demonstrates clinical understanding of providing care per standards.
  • Critical thinking, triage per scope of practice, assessment, problem-solving, and documentation reflect a consistent meeting of standards and are demonstrated in meeting passing scores of random chart review.
  • Consistently meets the overall Clinical competency standards for EMR documentation.
  • Discern and maintain confidentiality (i.e. HIPAA, proprietary information, disciplinary actions, etc.)
  • Effectively manage stress.
  • Works as part of a team, models a positive work ethic and customer-friendly relations.
  • Prioritize and multitask detailed projects with frequent interruptions.
  • Solve problems, issues and concerns in a professional manner.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency working with MS Word, Excel, email and Databases.
  • Comprehend and communicate information accurately and clearly (verbally and in writing, in person and via phone) with patients, all levels of personnel, and other individuals and groups.

  • Our PTO and EIB benefits begin accruing from the first day of employment and employees are eligible to take paid time off after 60 days of employment. An employee accrues PTO at a rate based upon the number of months of service at FCN. A new full-time employee generally accrues 18 days per year. EIB accrues based upon the number of paid hours excluding overtime, with a full-time employee accruing a maximum of 48 hours per year. Benefit eligibility is determined based on the full or part-time status of the position. Employees who are ineligible for FCN's PTO/EIB programs accrue Paid Sick Leave per Washington State law.
Our 401k retirement plan is designed to support you in preparing for retirement planning and includes individualized financial planning guidance. Eligibility for the FCN Retirement Plan programs is determined based upon years of service and required payroll hours.

Additional Benefits:
Our clinical staff members are eligible to receive state license reimbursement and an annual uniform allowance.
Qualifications
Required Education: Completion of accredited Medical Assistant or LPN program.
Required Licensure and Certification:
  • Active or interim Medical Assistant Certified (MA-C) or LPN licensure through the Washington State Department of Health. For LPN, may be eligible for Multistate License (MSL) which allows nurses (LPN/RN) from other states to practice in WA State without needing an additional license. (Link: https://nursing.wa.gov/msl)
  • Current BLS or within 60 days of hire.
Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hand to finger coordination, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and listen attentively. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
Immunization Requirements: All employees at Family Care Network (FCN) are expected to meet and maintain required immunizations as a contingency of employment. The immunization requirements are as follows: Influenza (annually), Tdap (after the age of 19), MMR, Varicella or a verified history of chickenpox disease, Two-step TST or IGRA (within the last 12 months), COVID-19 vaccine completed series and any additional immunizations determined necessary for the protection of staff and patients. Hepatitis B is also required for employees in positions with a high risk of bloodborne pathogen exposure, which includes the following: Providers, RNs, LPNs, MA-Cs, PSRs at all Urgent Care Locations, and all-laboratory staff. The Hepatitis B vaccine is strongly recommended for all other employees. FCN will cover the cost of required immunizations for any FCN employee. All employee immunizations will be administered by FCN staff except for the COVID-19 vaccine. The COVID-19 vaccine can be administered at a participating pharmacy or other healthcare location. Note: A medical or religious vaccine exemption/reasonable accommodation will be considered by submitting an FCN Exemption form for review and evaluation by the Chief Medical Officer.
