Fall River Health Service is looking for an Environmental Services Technician who will be responsible for maintaining a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas for patients/residents, visitors and associates by following infection control, safety, and procedural guidelines. The major challenge of this position is to perform duties in traffic areas and around residents/patients, visitors, employees and the public and to adjust these duties if necessary.
Shift: Sunday- Thursday with Friday and Saturday off or Thursday-Monday with Tuesday and Wednesday off
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily cleaning duties as scheduled by the supervisor, following specific established infection control procedures and standards for each area of assignment.
- Performs duties at assigned areas of the facility to ensure established standards of infection control are maintained. Demonstrate knowledge of infection control processes, tools and techniques in a healthcare environment; ability to apply this to provide a clean and sterile environment for patients/residents and facility staff.
- Ability to adjust to ensure that the needs of assigned areas are met.
- Work efficiently to contribute to an economical operation; interacts cooperatively with others to contribute to a positive work environment.
- Work according to prescribed safety standards to ensure that safe environment is maintained. Wear the proper protective equipment following the appropriate guidelines. Keep storage, equipment and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy. Environmental Services Technicians will have access to radios and other technology that they will be responsible to use appropriately when needed. Assist in the laundry areas as requested.
- Responsible for other related duties, including laundry duties as assigned by the Environmental Services Supervisor.
- Other responsibilities and duties as assigned on occasion, based upon facility needs and requirements.
- A High School diploma or equivalent.
- Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Minimum of six months environmental services experience in healthcare environment is preferred.
