We are seeking a casual Occupational Therapist, specializing in seeing NICU patients across the system! This therapist will float to the following locations: M Health Fairview University of MN Masonic Children's Hospital, M Health Fairview St. John's, M Health Fairview Southdale, M Health Fairview Woodwinds, and M Health Fairview Ridges. M Health Fairview Occupational Therapists are an integrated team member in all our NICUs, and work with a range of diagnosis and conditions.
M Health Fairview Rehabilitation offers a broad range of services that serve patients across 10 acute-care hospitals, 3 post-acute settings and 70 outpatient adult and pediatric therapy clinics. Consisting of Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy as well as Audiology and Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehab, our therapists collaborate with colleagues in all medical settings and offer dozens of specialty programs.
As an academic health system with residency and fellowship programs and a rehab-focused clinical quality team, we have a collaborative culture that is centered on learning with an emphasis on evidence based, patient-centered care. Rehabs continuing education program offers 40 continuing education courses per year at no cost to employees and further supports numerous external CE courses each year.

Responsibilities/Job Description:The Occupational Therapist partners with the patient and their care providers while performing evaluation and re-evaluation. Captures and applies pertinent data, performs examination, and resolves treatment diagnosis
Analyzes data to identify needs and potential risks, settles prognosis for recovery, and establishes individualized goals
Implements and modifies care plan based on reassessment and patient response
Coordinates care and communicates effectively with interdisciplinary team for all aspects care & establishes appropriate discharge plan
Implements and alters treatment to reflect change in patient status and response to treatment
Assesses patient and/or caregiver learning needs and provides appropriate education
Uses acceptable medical terminology and follows professional practice standards.
Completes documentation in a timely manner per department standards
Stays in sync with department billing standards
Prioritizes tasks and patient care for effective time management.
Understands and follows professional licensure/certification requirements
Advises team members and/or supervises students as designated
Pursues professional development to support clinical standard processes
Crafting and implementing improvements, and participates in and supports entity/system initiatives
Qualifications:Required
Occupational Therapy Licensure in State of Minnesota or temporary license
Active Basic Life Support Certification
Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy
1 year(s) of OT experience post graduation
Certification with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
