Job Description:
The RN- First Assistant assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and supervises individual patient care using the nursing process. Accepts responsibility for direction of co-workers and delegation of role appropriate tasks in the implementation of care.

• Incise and excise tissue. Close incisions. Using instruments and medical devices, providing surgical site exposure and hemostasis, and suturing and wound management.
• Provides quality care based on assessment needs and established plan of care/pathway.
• Provides education for the patient and family/significant other from admission through discharge process.
• Provides thorough, concise, accurate and legible documentation of the nursing process/pathway.
• Notifies physician of pertinent observations and changes in the status of the patient.
• Administers medications and performs treatments in an accurate safe manner.
• Implements physician orders as written.
• Assures equipment and supplies are readily available for patient care, reporting malfunctions to proper department.

Qualifications
Job Qualifications:

• Associate Degree in nursing required.
• Bachelors preferred.
• Successful completion of an approved RNFA program.
• Valid License to practice in the state of Ohio.
• CPR Certified required.
• Certified Nurse Operating Room.
• Previous operating room experience required.

Exerting up to 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible up to 10 pounds amount of force often.
