Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Safety Coordinator to join our team. The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations, developing and implementing safety programs, and promoting a culture of safety within the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a solid understanding of safety protocols, and the ability to effectively train and educate employees on safety procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions
- Collaborate with management to develop and deliver safety training programs for employees
- Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspections, training sessions, and other relevant data
- Stay up-to-date on changes in safety regulations and industry best practices
- Coordinate with external agencies, such as OSHA or the EPA, as necessary
- Fabricate safety signs or equipment as needed
- Experience with DOT Permits
- Experience with E-Logs
-Experience with Driver Hours
-Experience with Driver Qualification Files
-Experience with Random Testing Faciities
-Experience with IFTA Reports
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (preferred)
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Strong knowledge of workers compensation laws and regulations
- Experience conducting root cause analysis investigations
- Excellent report writing skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Training development experience is a plus
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
