In this role, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of innovative web, mobile and back-end applications supporting the Vision Digital and Connected Device Ecosystem. You will be involved in all aspects of the software development life cycle, from requirements gathering through architecture, design, coding, testing, and deployment as well as helping to drive best practices as a key contributor to our technology strategy and engineering culture. RESPONSIBILITIESCollaborate with product managers to assess technical feasibility and define and prioritize product features and enhancements.Work directly with cross-functional stakeholders including R&D embedded software, Commercial digital, Global Marketing, Cybersecurity and Technology Services to understand business requirements, translate them into technical specifications and drive execution.Lead technical teams (at times outsourced vendors/partners) responsible for the design and development of responsive web, mobile and back-end applications using modern frameworks and technologies.Lead the implementation of software applications and clean/maintainable code, following the J&J Vision technology standards as well as industry best practices and coding standards.Perform code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to J&J Vision technology standards.Conduct thorough testing of applications to identify and fix bugs and performance issues.Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in technology to continuously improve J&J Vision software development practices.Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and technical issues.Work closely with UX/UI designers to ensure seamless integration of design and development.Participate in agile development ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning and retrospectives.Maintain a detailed, working knowledge of relevant code bases, frameworks and vendor integrations and actively contribute to development efforts.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.Proven experience as a full stack, lead software engineer with at least 5 years of experience in one or more relevant roles.Strong working proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React.js, Angular, Vue.js).Strong working proficiency in server-side languages including Python and Node.js.Must have experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB, MongoDB, Firebase).Fluency with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) with the ability to build cloud solutions as an individual contributor or as part of a multi-disciplinary team.Experience with modern DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.Strong understanding of software security principles and best practices.Familiarity withExcellent technical problem-solving and debugging skills.Strong ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the strong ability to lead technical conversations and build consensus, at times with non-technical stakeholders.The anticipated base pay range for those located in the United States for this position is $118,000- $203,550 USD.If you are a passionate software engineer who thrives in a fast-paced and collaborative environment, we would love to hear from you.
