Position: Certified Nursing Assistant
Location: Manahawkin, NJ

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). The CNA is responsible for maintaining a safe patient environment and working as part of a healthcare team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

1. Direct Patient Care :

   • Provide hygiene and comfort care including bathing, toileting, oral hygiene, incontinent care, and bed making.
   • Assist patients with daily activities as needed.

2. Vital Signs and Documentation :

   • Take and document vital signs under RN direction and notify RN of results.
   • Perform and document glucose finger sticks and collect specimens such as stool, urine, and sputum.
   • Obtain and document daily patient weights and observe and document patient’s intake and output.

3. Patient Safety :

   • Ensure a safe patient environment by promptly answering call lights.
   • Communicate with RN immediately for any changes in patient condition.
   • Act as a patient sitter when required.
   • Maintain clean and safe nursing units and patient rooms.

4. Specialized Care :

   • Identify and cater to the specific needs of the patient population served, including age, culture, and sensory impairments.
   • Communicate effectively with patients, parents, and primary caregivers at appropriate developmental and literacy levels.

5. Team Interaction :

   • Regularly interact with medical center personnel, patients, and visitors.

• Experience :

  • 1-2 years of recent acute care experience, preferably in OBGYN.
  • Willingness to float on Mondays to different nearby offices.

• Education :

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

• Certifications & Licensure :

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification or nursing student enrolled in a BSN program with completed fundamentals of nursing.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification from the American Heart Association.

• Languages :

  • Proficiency in English (speak, read, write).
