Department: Finance

Reports To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) / Finance Manager

Job Overview:

The Accountant plays a critical role in preparing, maintaining, analyzing, verifying, and reconciling complex financial transactions, statements, records, and reports, and advising on financial matters to support the strategic goals of our organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in accounting principles, exhibit meticulous attention to detail, and demonstrate the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Financial Records Maintenance: Ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions and maintain up-to-date accounting records in accordance with industry standards and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, cash-flow statements, and variance analysis to assist management in decision-making.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of the annual budget and financial forecasts, monitor budget variances, and report significant issues to management.
  • Tax Preparation and Filing: Coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings, and advise management on tax impact of corporate strategies.
  • Audit Support: Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit. Ensure that accounting practices comply with established standards and regulations.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable Management: Oversee the processing of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy in invoicing and payments to and from clients/vendors.
  • Internal Controls: Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial information.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in Healthcare industry.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial principles and laws.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Quickbook) and MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to present complex information in an understandable format.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily in an office environment.
  • Regular office hours with additional hours required at month-end, quarter-end, and year-end.

Physical Requirements:

  • Primarily sedentary with occasional movement around the office.
  • Requires long periods of sitting and focus on computer screens.
