Job Description
The Director, Workforce Program Solutions (Youth) will work under the general guidance of the Vice President, Service Delivery and be a member of the Equus National Service Delivery Team. This position will operate with significant autonomy. The primary focus of this position will be to position Equus as a leading provider of Youth and Young Adult workforce programs across the United States through innovative program design, thought leadership, and resources and training that support our dozens of local youth operations nationwide. As a member of the Service Delivery leadership team, The Director, Workforce Program Solutions will lead and/or support a broad range of special projects and other initiatives that deliver on our strategic priorities and support operations overall.
  • Provide program design guidance with input from operational leaders, external experts, and customer feedback.
  • Ensure provision of technical guidance and expertise to youth/young adult projects and staff.
  • Engage with funder staff as appropriate, particularly during initial planning stages, start-up, and annual renewals or as circumstances warrant.
  • Represent Equus at public meetings, conferences, and other events as an expert in youth/young adult programming.
  • Conduct public presentations at conferences and draft and prepare white papers or other documents that demonstrate our expertise and thought leadership in the youth and young adult arena.
  • When required, develop, review, and implement standardized process maps, workflows, and standard operating procedures aligned with federal, state, and local requirements as needed.
  • Oversee the development of youth/young adult toolkits using company service delivery standards, research-based methods, and industry best practices.
  • Develop training materials related to program rules and regulations and company standards; may require further customization for state and local requirements.
  • Conduct ongoing review and analysis of federal and state policies and regulations and develop or oversee the development of new and/or updated materials and training to ensure consistent with those changes.
  • Conduct staff training for program implementation and operations.
  • Consult on and develop Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) guidelines and practices.
  • Oversee and/or conduct operational assessments using discovery methods, research, interviews, and observations resulting in a written assessment with clear recommendations for next actions.
  • Utilize operational assessments to develop customized implementation plans addressing all areas, such as operational design, staff training plans, standard operating procedures, leadership, performance, etc.
  • Organize, facilitate, and support communities of practice providing frequent opportunities and creative and efficient methods for learning and sharing of best practices.
  • Conduct internal compliance and quality reviews of program operations and identify opportunities for improvement following CQI guidelines and practices.
  • Provide leadership and support for a variety of Equus strategic initiatives and special projects.
  • Support efforts to retain and secure new business through participation in conferences, events, meetings, preparation of proposals, and oral presentations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, human services or related field, master's degree preferred; or an equivalent level of education and demonstrated experience that is specific to youth and young adult programming, with experience across multiple regions and states preferred.
  • Outstanding writing and presentation skills and proven experience in developing and communicating strategic and technical information in a manner that garners active group participation and leads to successful adoption of learned skills.
  • Experience delivering information in a public setting (recorded, virtual and live) utilizing engaging public speaking skills and appropriate collateral (powerpoint decks, handouts, etc.). This includes conference workshops, oral presentations for potential new contracts, company meetings, training sessions, etc.
  • Knowledge of assigned programmatic requirements; experience researching program policy and ability to translate to operational activities resulting in positive performance.
  • Intermediate computer skills with O365 products, virtual meeting tools, project planning tools, and collaborative tools such as Teams and SharePoint.
  • Excellent organization and planning skills; demonstrated ability to resolve problems independently with sound judgment.
  • Current driver's license (with a low-risk driver rating) and automobile liability insurance.
  • Physical stamina to lead group planning and training activities for extended periods.
  • Easy access to an airport and willingness and flexibility to travel via car, plane, or other appropriate modes with limited notice; (estimated 60% travel with surges and lulls dependent on business seasonal ebbs and flows).
  • A laptop, docking station, 2 monitors and keyboard/mouse will be provided by the company for a home office.
  • Must provide reliable and sufficient internet access at home sufficient for video meetings.
  • Equus currently has a Bring-Your-Own-Device requirement (mobile phone with data) at this time (subject to change) - a monthly stipend is provided.
