The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will join a team of 5 reporting into the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. This is a hands-on position, working with automated and manual processes on the manufacturing floor.

Description

The responsibilities of the Senior Manufacturing Engineer include, but are not limited to:

• Oversee manufacturing engineering tasks related to the production of a Class lll medical device product line
• Collaborate with production staff to develop and refine manufacturing processes, providing technical support for both new and existing methods.
• Engage directly in hands-on development of manufacturing processes, including participation in validation activities, data collection, and analysis.
• Lead continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing product quality and reducing costs.
• Mentor and train junior engineers and interns.
• Create and maintain documentation such as manufacturing instructions, inspection procedures, test protocols, assembly drawings, equipment control documents, and component drawings.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Operations teams to streamline production through process improvements, testing enhancements, and product design changes.
• Work with cross-functional teams to address technical and quality issues, including involvement in MRB, customer complaint investigations, CAPA activities, design initiatives, and regulatory submissions.

Profile

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will have the following qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
• 8 years of experience in an FDA/ISO regulated Medical Device/Medical Equipment industry.
• Proven experience in Process Development and/or Manufacturing Engineering, including the development and execution of Process Validations for new and existing processes and test equipment.
• Demonstrated experience in leading the design, development, and validation of production fixtures and tooling.
• Previous hands-on experience working directly with production staff to enhance manufacturing processes.
• Expertise in developing and validating processes for plastic assembly, hardware assembly, electromechanical assembly, and testing.
• Proficient in using SolidWorks and/or Pro Engineer to create 3D models and drawings for manufacturing assemblies, fixture design, and sustaining engineering activities.
• Lean Six Sigma experience and knowledge of statistical data analysis techniques
