POSITION OVERVIEW
Leads the operations for the Donated Goods social enterprise to meet the revenue goals of EFMN. Ensures that operations are efficient and reliable, fosters a positive donor experience, and pursues opportunities for business growth and expansion.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Function
Business Operations - 50%
Develops and maintains an efficient staffing operation plan.
Hires, trains, supervises, and terminates supervisory-level staff and others as needed.
Optimizes technology to find efficiencies, reduce costs, and accurately track data.
Researches and negotiates favorable contracts for the sale of collected goods, as well as contracts for truck leases, and various other services. Maintains positive relationships with all levels of buyers' operations.
Serves as staff liaison to the Donated Goods Committee.
Leads staff so that all personnel, operations, and planning move in synergy toward achieving financial goals
Business Strategy and Development- 40%
Works closely with executive leadership to align Donated goods goals and operations with those of the broader EFMN organization.
Collaborates with communications and marketing staff on solicitation to align communication strategies and increase donations.
Pursues potential business opportunities: leads the planning, collaborates with executive leadership to assess viability, and implements when approved.
Ensures a positive donor experience and creates metrics to monitor donor satisfaction.
Oversees the collection of relevant data and uses data to inform business practices and opportunities.
Understands thrift industry and maintains up-to-date information on prospective buyers.
Budgeting and Analysis- 10%
Monitors financial reports for accuracy and budget trends.
Prepares forecasts, and proactively communicates any expected variance. Uses data to make cost-effective decisions.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Critical thinker with demonstrated ability to analyze complex business situations including ability to analyze reports and develop action plans to increase efficiencies
Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of individuals of varying abilities from diverse racial, ethnic, developmental, and economic backgrounds
Experience managing a team of ten or more employees
Demonstrated knowledge of business development
Demonstrated knowledge of basic marketing concepts
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to read financial statements and understanding of basic accounting practices
Demonstrated knowledge of digital marketing strategies is a plus
Experience with budgeting and forecasting is a plus

Ability to sit and/or stand for up to 8 hour periods of time. Ability to stand, walk, reach, bend and kneel.

Ability to look at a computer monitor, utilize a keyboard and mouse or equivalent equipment for up to 8 hours per day
TRAVEL
Regular travel within the 9 county metro area. Occasional travel throughout MN and out-of-state travel.
