The Speech Language Pathologist will be required to formulateIndividual Education Plans for each student on their caseload and maintainreport cards. The Social Worker will also be required to attend IEP meetings tocollaborate with parents and other members of staff.

Performance responsibilities:

·Conduct initialscreenings as well as comprehensive evaluations in the area of speech andlanguage to determine students’ need for services or need of dismissal fromservices

·Participate in the IEPprocess in developing present levels of performance, goals and objectives, andtreatment recommendations for students qualifying for speech therapy services

·Provide speech therapysessions through the use of current best practices based on prescribed servicesin the IEP

·Maintain alldocumentation required by the district and ASHA’s code of ethics including, butnot limited to, daily notes, monthly summaries, and annual IEP’s

Requirements

oMaster’s Degree in Speech and Language Therapy

oHold a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) credential offered by the AmericanSpeech-Language-Hearing Association

oMust hold a current license to practice in the state ofIllinois or a valid type 10 or be eligible for licensure through completion ofthe Clinical Fellowship Year

oAssumes responsibility for ongoing continuing educationand professional development
