Job Description: Medical Scribe (Cardiology)
Position: Medical Assistant
Department: Cardiology
Employment Type: Full-time
Location: In-office
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant with expertise in cardiology to join our team. The Medical Assistant will work closely with cardiologists to accurately document patient encounters, procedures, and treatment plans. This position requires strong knowledge of cardiology terminology, procedures, and electronic health record systems.
Responsibilities:
Assist cardiologists in performing various medical procedures, including EKGs, stress tests, and echocardiograms.
  1. Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies.
  2. Escort patients to examination rooms and obtain their medical history, vital signs, and other relevant information.
  3. Perform routine administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and managing patient records.
  4. Assist with the coordination of patient care, including referrals to other healthcare providers and scheduling diagnostic tests.
  5. Adhere to all medical protocols, privacy regulations, and safety standards.
  6. Accurately document patient histories, physical exams, and treatment plans in real-time during office visits and hospital rounds.
  7. Assist healthcare provider with charting, order entry, and other administrative tasks to ensure accurate and timely documentation.
  8. Coordinate communication between healthcare provider, patients, and other medical staff to facilitate efficient patient care.
  9. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assistant training program is preferred.
  • Current certification as a Medical Assistant.
  • Previous experience working in a cardiology or internal medicine setting is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards patients.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends, if required.
  • Spanish Speaking
EDUCATION:
Medical Assistant Certification
EXPERIENCE:
  • 2 years of experience in Cardiology, internal medicine is preferred.
  • Experience with eClinicalWorks
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
  • Ability to interact and verbally communicate effectively with patients and all levels of personnel in a professional, courteous and effective manner with excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to multi-task; must possess strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of medical equipment and maintenance.
  • Ability to learn how to maintain medical equipment.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
  • Ability to read, speak, write, and understand the English language fluently. Spanish is a Plus
Cardiology clinic practice. Looking for full time or part time medical assistant to help with Clinic Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm . Clinic is 5 days a week We have a beautiful facility and wonderful team to work with. Spanish is a plus and Knowledge with eClinicalWorks EMR is a plus.
