Respiratory Therapy

PRN Nightshift: 12 hour shifts 6pm-6am

Requirements:

* NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)

* Respiratory Therapist License issued by the State of Alabama

* Current Basic Life Support (BLS) & Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification

About the Job:

* Under the direction of Physicians and and Respiratory Director, perform all respiratory procedures in accordance with NBRC, State Regulations, and departmental policies.

* Is responsible for the administration of all Respiratory Care modalities on all age groups of patients from neonate through geriatric.

* Collaborates with other professionals in and out of the Hospital to ensure effective, efficient patient care delivery and achievement of desired outcomes.

* Recommend and implement appropriate respiratory care procedures and protocols based on observed abnormalities.

* Provides respiratory care to patients in acute, chronic, and emergency situations. Manages mechanical ventilation and artificial airways in critical and general care areas.

* Collects and analyzes arterial blood gases as well as administers aerosolized medications and other respiratory treatments.

* Initiates, monitors and manages patient's oxygen through various devices including high flow nasal cannula and non-invasive positive pressure ventilation.

* Document patient care records in accordance with outlined policies and procedures.
