Position Summary

The Behavioral Health Therapist provides quality clinical consultation addressing patient psycho-social concerns in collaboration with the integrated primary care team.

Essential Duties & Functions

• Provide cognitive and behavioral interventions to individuals (adult and pediatric patients) with a behavioral health problem
• Provide classes in a format appropriate for a primary care setting (i.e., stress management, sleep enhancement and chronic pain)
• Consult with primary care physicians (PCP) regarding patient care, as requested
• Timely follow-up on all PCP referrals via same-day verbal and/or written communication; timely documentation in the patients’ medical record
• Deliver brief presentations/trainings to primary care team members regarding behavioral health related issues and BHC services provided
• Participate in the development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of clinical pathway programs
• Consult with legal authorities, as directed
• Support the Mission, Vision and Values of TFHC
• Effectively manage a full daily patient schedule as defined by the BHC manual
• May include supervision of peer providers who are in training or not yet fully licensed
• Attend and participate in meetings, committees, and conferences, as directed
• Other duties, as assigned.

Required Education, Certifications, Licenses, & Training

• Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field with a minimum of (2) years’ experience as a therapist OR a Doctoral Degree in Psychology, with a minimum of (2) years’ experience as a therapist required
• Current BLS Certification required
• Current and unencumbered LCSW, LMFT, or LMHC license to practice in the State of Florida required
