Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION: Clinical Lead Advanced Practice Provider Role is to provide shift accountability for the clinical, administrative and human resources activities for the Advanced Practice Provider Services (APPs), as well as provide support to the Chief. Additionally, will practice in an advanced role and coordinate the delivery of high quality, family/patient centered appropriate patient care within the designated service area.ResponsibilitiesIn this role, provides oversight and leadership for greater than 10 APPs or APPs at multiple locationsMaintains own clinical competencies as required by medical staff privilegingEnsures organizational and medical staff standards of competencies and quality and safety initiatives are met by participating in the competency process through Med Staff and development of policies, procedures, and practice guidelines to optimize APP practice within the institutionFacilitates delivery of safe, effective, and patient/family-centered care that is timely, efficient and equitable. Improves patient care through scientific inquiry and by incorporating evidence-based practice into direct patient careOversees regulatory function of the APP role, including monitoring of licensure, credentialing, certification, billing and coding, reimbursement and other regulatory requirementsWorks with leadership to recruit and hire staff, establishes work schedules, supervises staff performance, participates in performance evaluations, and determines and disseminates quality activities and design for assigned staff.Provide formal and informal clinical instruction, coaching and mentoring on all shiftsMonitors clinical practices and develops programs to incorporate best practiceDevelops and monitors individual APP goals for clinical practice and professional development and provides feedback during annual performance review process regarding goal achievement. Completes OPPE/FPPEWorks with Associate Chief/Chief to formulate plan for professional development. Attends educational in-services as appropriate. Participates in professional activities and organizations to maintain knowledge of current trends, practices, and developments.Oversees clinical scheduling for designated areas to ensure adequate patient coverageWill spend 10-20 % admin time, as determined by the section and 80-90% clinical duties.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program. Currently licensed as an advanced practice nurse in the state of Georgia by the Georgia Board of Nursing and certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent body, or Certified as a Physician's Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). At least two years of experience as an APP or CNM. BLS and Healthcare Provider certifications required. ACLS may be required in some areas.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium): 20-50 lbs; 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock , Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation , Shift work, Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
