Job Description
A reputable small civil litigation firm based in the vibrant heart of downtown Seattle seeks a seasoned Associate Attorney to join our dedicated team. With a focus on civil litigation, our firm prides itself on a collegial environment, commitment to excellence, and a holistic approach to legal challenges.
Position Summary: The Associate Attorney will play a critical role in managing cases from the initial notice of appearance through to trial. This position demands a candidate with substantial experience in civil litigation, specifically six to eight years, and a proven track record of successful motion practice. Trial experience, while not mandatory, is highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive client consultations to identify legal issues and develop effective litigation strategies.
- Undertake diligent research, including interviewing witnesses, reviewing depositions and evidence, and collaborating with clients to formulate robust legal tactics.
- Skillfully draft motions and other legal documents, manage discovery processes, and depose parties, experts, and third-party witnesses.
- Represent clients in hearings, vigorously advocating on their behalf and supporting motions and legal positions.
- Lead or contribute significantly to trial proceedings, demonstrating adept courtroom strategies and a commitment to client objectives.
- Facilitate the execution of settlement agreements, ensuring client interests are forefront.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
- A minimum of six to eight years of experience in civil litigation.
- Licensed to practice law in the state of Washington.
- Exceptional ability in motion practice and a solid understanding of the litigation process.
- Strong analytical, research, and written/verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to handle a diverse caseload independently through trial.
Benefits:
- Full-time position. Salary range $130,000 - $145,000
