Job Details:

Purpose
To coordinate and perform the daily operations of clinical research studies requiring special qualifications or attainment, with wide latitude for independent action and decision. Proposes, plans, schedules, coordinates, completes, and reports the detailed phases of a part of, or all of, a clinical research study. Cultivates, maintains, and develops effective research sponsor relationships. Devises new approaches to problems encountered. Coordinates or assists with applications for the Institutional Review Board and external site approval partners. Participates in the data collection, writing and editing process of manuscripts for submission to scientific and clinical journals. Assists with budgeting, writing, and formatting of grants and grant submissions. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the day-to-day management and operations of research projects. Perform subject visits for study activities including identification and screening of potential subjects, consenting, enrollment, scheduling, study drug management, and all study visit procedures. Complete all data collection, sample processing, and study monitoring visits.

  • Complete all study start-up needs such as obtaining study materials from sponsor and ensuring regulatory documents are completed through internal processes.

  • Manage project close-out activities. Responsible for clinical communications with sponsors, central and local IRBs, vendors, monitors, and investigators.

  • Coordinate logistics for meetings and project groups and capturing minutes from project meetings. Coordinate with other departments, schools at the University, and partner institutions.

  • Manage and train student research volunteers and/or work study students within individual research projects. Staff meetings, training, webinars, special projects,

  • Other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with four (4) years of related experience as a RN and/or coordinating clinical trials research studies. Registered Nurse required. Able to collaborate and communicate well in a broad environment. Manage day-to-day activities. The ability to communicate with others in a clear, understandable and professional manner on the phone and in person; demonstrated use of good written and verbal communication skills. Must be comfortable with speaking with patients, including by phone or virtual video visit to collect data. Must possess effective project management skills, including the ability to plan, organize and schedule work in an efficient and productive manner, focusing on key priorities and meeting deadlines. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience coordinating clinical research studies. Previous experience with subject recruitment and retention, and data management. Certification in clinical research. Experience in health services research and/or cancer related research. Experience in an academic health center. Prior experience with patient interaction or patient-facing work, must be comfortable speaking with patients to collect patient-reported data by phone or virtual video. Experience communicating with patients with serious illness. Proficient in the use of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, Endnote (or other reference management tool), and RedCAP. Excellent organizational skills with great attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Energetic, eager to learn new skills. Capable of independent as well as collaborative work. Excellent documentation skills. Analytical skills and ability to resolve technical problems and interpret acceptability of data results. Willingness to learn oncology and hepatology practices and terminology as they pertain to study development and management. Fluent in Spanish. Salary Range
$65,000 depending on qualifications
Working Conditions
