Expert Systems Engineer - Geospatial Intelligence Integration

Overview: As an Expert-level Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in leading the integration of next-generation commercial electro-optical satellite sensor data into the enterprise. Your expertise will be instrumental in assisting the government in various critical aspects of engineering, encompassing requirements engineering, solutions engineering, scheduling, reliability, resiliency, services development, integration, test and evaluation, maintainability, and analysis. These efforts will span across the National System of Geospatial-intelligence (NSG), Allied System of Geospatial-intelligence (ASG), and multiple Federal Agencies, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT).

Duties of the Expert-Level Systems Engineer include:

  • Directing requirements engineering, solutions engineering, scheduling, and more across NSG, ASG, and Federal Agencies.
  • Analyzing user requirements, architectures, procedures, and cloud service capabilities to enhance existing systems.
  • Providing guidance to the Government for solutions design improvements based on requirements and emerging technology.
  • Translating mission and customer requirements into systems/capability solutions.
  • Allocating requirements to systems architecture components and executing programs.
  • Leading systems integration activities.
  • Conducting Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), Course of Actions (CoAs), Trade Studies, and Engineering Assessments.
  • Contributing to strategic technical planning, project management, performance engineering, risk management, and interface design.
  • Offering expert advice on vision, strategy, plans, needs, requirements, and capability developments.
  • Overseeing the integration of multiple Major Systems Acquisitions across organizational, agency, department, and governmental/national boundaries.
  • Coordinating the work of Senior, Mid, and Junior-level contractor Systems Engineers.

Required Skills and Experience of the Expert-level Systems Engineer:

  • US Government Issued Top-Secret / SCI Security Clearance.
  • 18 Years of Relevant Experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent additional experience.
  • Expert-level experience in relevant areas, including complex System of Systems or Service Oriented Architecture environments.
  • Proficiency in systems engineering lifecycle.

Desired Skills and Experiences of the Expert Systems Engineer (experts should meet most of these):

  • Master’s degree or higher in Systems Engineering or related field.
  • Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering, processes, tools, and languages.
  • Software Development Framework certification.
  • INCOSE Expert Systems Engineering Professional (ESEP) certification.
  • Licensure as a professional engineer.
  • Membership or leadership participation in professional organizations.
  • Extensive work experience in geospatial intelligence.
  • Experience with cloud technologies, Big Data, and AI.
  • Expertise in photogrammetry, remote sensing, and related fields.
  • Knowledge of the current NSG/ASG and NRO enterprises.
  • Previous NGA and/or NSG/ASG program/project work experience.
