This Employee Benefits Account Executive position works with the Client Executive and account service team with existing and prospective client accounts in a manner that assures successful long-term relationships resulting in loyal clients.

The Account Executive's essential functions include:

Essential Functions

  • Work in partnership with clients, develop long term strategy for Employee Benefits that align with client business goals. Manage the execution of the strategy with regard to the financial market, and employee engagement goals
  • Provide a high level of service to the client in a manner that allows the Client Executive the opportunity to achieve maximum account retention and sales volume consistent with corporate goals
  • Accept responsibility for significant problems on current accounts, work with team members to develop solutions, and to communicate these to clients in a manner consistent with our Core Values.
  • Promptly respond to client and service team members' requests.
  • Present renewals to clients and deliver policies.
  • Coordinate and assist with all internal activities (i.e. communicating, annual calendars, project plans, customer service, group marketing, etc.) to properly service existing and prospective clients
  • Advanced level technical product knowledge and coverage interpretation
  • Oversee timely and accurate deliverables within established company standards
  • Document client meetings with a conference report of the discussion, decisions, and action items
  • Communicate to the service team information about the client including buying styles, expectations, problems, concerns and other relevant knowledge to ensure a consistently higher level of service
  • Oversee open enrollment facilitation and conduct open enrollment meetings with Client Executive and/or Account Manager
  • Identify opportunities for employee education and prepare presentations or collaborate as needed with Corporate Communications to create ad-hoc communication
  • Handle complex claim situations with the Account Manager
  • Maintain technical insurance skills and product knowledge, satisfy continuing education and licensing requirements
  • Promote agency and insurance industry in the community
  • Perform special projects at the Client Executive's request
  • Maintain working knowledge of Federal and State Legislation as it relates to the benefits division and properly communicate to all involved service team members
  • Coordinate services available from other Kapnick business units and service teams.
  • Monitor and manage voice mail, incoming mailboxes, outlook and activities, per agency guidelines

Requirements

To be considered for the Account Executive position, you should have:

  • Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school): Preferred
  • Minimum 10 years experience in group benefits
  • Life & Health License: Required
  • Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, Teams), video conferencing and Agency Management Systems
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Willingness to travel as necessary to attend industry meetings if so instructed
