General Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Director of Behavioral Health and Regional School Safety Center, the Substance Use Disorder Professional provides chemical dependency prevention, intervention and treatment services for youth in an outpatient program. Services are delivered in a school setting.
Salary:
The full annual salary range is $49,507.93 - $60,234.49.Offers are made at the entry level of the range.
Assignment:
This position will be full-time and work 200 days per year. Completion of a TB test within 30 days of hire, at employee's expense, is required.

Essential Functions/Other Functions

Essential Functions:
  1. Conduct youth screening, and assessment using American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) placement criteria and referral services for identified youth.
  2. Provide outpatient treatment services, including group and individual counseling, and educational programs and services for youth and their families.
  3. Assist youth and their families in overcoming treatment barriers, accessing other services, and developing a supportive recovery life style.
  4. Work collaboratively with Juvenile Probation Officers and the court to provide appropriate services for referrals from Juvenile Justice System.
  5. Work collaboratively with Student Assistance Professionals and other school staff to provide appropriate services for referrals from school system.
  6. Work collaboratively with other community providers and programs to provide services and referrals.
  7. Provide continuing care for patients who have completed outpatient treatment.
  8. Maintain/manage accurate patient records in accordance with 246-341 WAC, and ESD 112 Wellness and Treatment Services policies and procedures.
  9. Represent ESD 112 treatment program at meetings within district and community as needed.
  10. Provide coverage of treatment and early intervention services as needed.
Other Functions:
  1. Attend school staffing meetings when appropriate.
  2. Provide training for school staff on youth substance use and dependency issues.
  3. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum/Preferred Qualifications & Skills

Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Associate's degree.
  2. Washington State Substance Use Disorder Professional certification.
  3. Experienced case management and record keeping skills.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
  1. Bachelor's degree.
  2. Experience in utilization of ASAM placement criteria.
  3. Experience working with schools, social services and Juvenile Justice.
  4. Experience in conducting adolescent assessments.
Working Conditions/Employment Requirements

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
  1. Flexible work hours required.
  2. Travel to districts in the ESD region.

  1. Successful completion of a criminal records background check and fingerprint check through Washington State Patrol and FBI.
