Edgewater Federal Solutions is Hiring a Senior Software Developer Near Albuquerque, NM

Responsibilities

The Subcontractor shall provide software maintenance activities implementing general use software languages. Knowledge and use of specified software languages and libraries is required. Customer and team collaboration efforts to capture requirements, create software designs and specifications, and related communications are part of normal maintenance activities. Knowledge and use of industry standard code versioning systems is required. Adherence to team coding and operations standards is required. Cyber and industry standard Dev/Sec/Ops knowledge and adherence will be used in code development efforts. Use and participation of other code development methodologies and project management deliverables (e.g. Kanban, Agile, Waterfall) is required. Use of team coding standards is required. Documented outcomes of unit test, software test, systems test, and production test may be required. Ad hoc coding efforts may be requested to meet certain business needs.

The Mission Solutions and Design department exists to work with internal/external customers to design, develop and deploy software systems to national security missions.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Software developer to work on full-stack software development team doing both front-end and back-end development.
  • Degree BS/BA and 8 years experience.
  • Software design experience
  • Strong Java experience
  • Experience developing software on Unix/Linux
  • Knowledge of distributed and parallel computing.
  • A wide range of programming languages including C/C , Java, Python, and JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based technologies, such as AWS, and platform-as-a-service technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

Desired Skills:

  • JavaScript, Electron, JavaFX experience
  • Some C , Python experience
  • Candidate can start uncleared but must be able to obtain a DOE Q but will be required to obtain a higher-level clearance and be required to meet those requirements. Candidate must reside in the Albuquerque as the work is completed on site.

As part of the Mission Computing Services (MCS) team, the Subcontractor shall provide IT support. Our Vision is to deliver secure next generation technical information solutions for the nation's nuclear deterrence lifecycle. For all work areas requested, individuals are required to have and maintain a DOE Q clearance. All resources shall perform work requests for tasks assigned by the service manager, team manager/lead or team coordinator, within the work areas requested. All assignments are to be performed within the bounds of MCS customer agreements and service hours. All work assignments shall be accounted for by appropriate project/task time charging reporting structures. Continuous adherence to Cyber policies for technical work is required for all services. Continuous adherence to Security and Safety directives is required. General and specific tasks noted in the tasks sections, as assigned by the Customer Team Manager/Lead or Service Manager, are required. Overarching Requirements: Due to the nature of work requested, location and work hours are established to provide continuity of services when customer program teams typically require assistance and may be adjusted to meet customer priorities. All work hours established require customer concurrence to meet various customer program commitments. Planned time away requires communication to and concurrence with the customer to maintain continuity of services. Work requests shall be received by in-person contact, phone/email/IM requests, and ticket receipts. All work performed shall be documented in tickets, project tracking tools, or reported in team status meetings. All system documentation shall be maintained per team standards. All systems shall be monitored and maintained per team documented standards. Other assignments and tasks may be assigned, as needed. Select Services Assignments: Select customer program assignments may require additional security requirements. Select customer program assignments requires knowledge, exposure and compliance to customer Cyber standards. Occasional travel is required for select assignments. On-call may be required for select assignments as business needs change and shall be charged in accordance with the GBPA provisions. Remote work may be allowed for select assignments, with concurrence from the customer.
