Join our team! EastRidge Health Systems is seeking caring and compassionate individuals to join our Behavioral Health Technician team, a rewarding role involving helping others. Behavioral Health Technicians work with people who have intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. As a BHT, you are a mentor and a friend. BHT's help individuals in their homes to ensure daily needs are met, provide assistance with social and living skills, and sometimes provide transportation services (in an agency vehicle). While providing this direct care, your support improves the health, safety, and wellbeing of our clients. No experience required, you will receive paid training. We are here to help you succeed, all the while improving the lives of others and continuing your professional development.

Responsibilities:

• Provide daily support and direction to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in areas of self-care, communication, self-direction, independent living, mobility, and learning.
• Assist individuals in areas of hygiene and dressing.
• Assist in the preparation of nutritional meals in a family-style dining environment.
• Support individuals in daily tasks, such as cleaning living areas, personal laundry responsibilities, and facilitating/attending community outings.
• Assist with in-house therapeutic activities such as physical exercises, occupational arts and crafts, and recreational games.
• Maintain a constant awareness and supervision of clients during all activities.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Follows company policies and procedures including personnel, nursing, and administrative policies.
• Maintains confidentiality at all times.
• Walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying and grasping are necessary body movements utilized in performing duties.
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• At least 18 years old
• Possess a valid driver's license
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work flexible hours/all shifts
• Successfully pass a WV Cares background check

Job type/pay: Full-Time or Part-Time, $12.00 per hour
