Position Overview

Position Summary:
Under supervision of the Head Men's and Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Coach, assist in managing and coaching the Track & Field/Cross Country Team programs.
Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist with recruiting and scheduling
  • Specialize in coaching Throws
  • Supervise of equipment inventory
  • Assist with planning, instructing and supervising daily practice sessions
  • Coordinate and conduct off season training and conditioning
  • Participate in meet management
  • Lead fundraising campaigns
  • Classroom instruction will be assigned in the Health and Physical Education Department
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Previous experience as high school and/or college track & field coach and/or a strong background as a track athlete is preferred
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license, and open to transport the team as needed
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Must possess good organizational and communication skills.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with all types of people, establish and maintain a working relationship with students, coaches and other college administrators
  • Must have knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
Working Conditions

Physical Demand and Working Conditions:
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, push, pull or otherwise move objects
  • Work is performed inside a non-smoking facility
  • Must be able to work long hours outside
  • Work requires traveling
  • May have exposure to blood borne pathogens

Paid Time Off Full time exempt employees accrue 14.66 hours of annual leave and 14 hours of medical leave per month. Employees must work for the University for three months before they are eligible to use annual leave. Leave accruals will be pro-rated for part time employees. Temporary employees do not accrue leave.
Employee Educational Assistance Plan Eastern New Mexico University offers a tuition waiver for regular employees and retirees. This program waives the tuition for one course (up to four credit hours) per semester. Employees' spouses may be eligible to use the tuition waiver during any semester that it is not being used by the employee.
