WestCoast Children's Clinic, located in Oakland, California, is a non-profit community psychology clinic that provides mental health services to Bay Area children, youth and families. **SIGNING BONUS - $2,000 ($4,000 for bilingual Spanish)**

What is the role?

Our Screening, Stabilization, and Transition (STAT) Program is an innovative, model program that provides mental health Screening, Stabilization, and Transition (STAT) services to children as they enter the foster care system in Alameda County.

As a STAT Clinician, you will provide:

  • Screening, assessment, and therapeutic interventions as children enter into or change placement within the child welfare system. Consult with county social workers and make recommendations regarding the mental health needs of clients.
  • Short-term therapeutic interventions to clients as well as collateral support and guidance to foster parents, relatives, and group home staff in order to facilitate children's transition to and stabilization in their placements.
  • Individual and family therapy, caregiver guidance, collateral contacts, and case management to children with chronic placement instability for a period of 3-12 months.
  • Provide stabilization support services to children and TAY in an in-person milieu environment.
  • Provide services at WCC program sites and in the community (youth's homes, communities, other agencies, and schools); travel is required

The ideal candidate has:

  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in psychology, counseling, marriage, and family therapy or social work (required).
  • Current and valid license or registration with the CA BBS or BOP
  • 1-2 years post-graduate work with children and families preferred (open to recent graduates.)
  • Demonstrate clinical skill in assessment/evaluation and treatment, crisis intervention while working with complex, multiple diagnosis histories.
  • Well-organized, efficient, and excellent time management
  • A trauma-informed and relational approach to working with youth
  • Work with Medi-Cal reimbursement procedures and billing.
  • Ability to assess needs, strengths & provide crisis intervention and de-escalation in small and large group settings.
  • Clean DMV record; travel is required.
  • Experience with developmental milestones and child development.
Position details and compensation:

Salary range is $72,000-$82,000 per year (unlicensed starting at $72,000 and licensed starting at $82,000) PLUS 10% differential for alternative workweek (regular weekend shift required.), and 10% Spanish language differential, if applicable.
