Status: Full-time, exempt, temporary two-year term position

What We Need

The National Marine Sanctuary Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is a leading voice for U.S. protected waters, is seeking a Digital Asset Management Coordinator/Editor, a position that will play a key role in implementing the scope of a cooperative agreement between the National Marine Sanctuary Foundation and the NOAA Office of National Marine Sanctuaries (ONMS) by supporting digital asset management, video editing, and script development of proposed newly designated national marine sanctuaries. The person in this role will be central to maintaining operational efficiency and brand consistency across the organization.

What You’ll Do

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with ONMS Video Production Specialist on data management plans and workflows for existing and future video, photo, and graphic assets.
  • Develop concepts, research content, write scripts, and create storyboards for National Marine Sanctuary System films, specifically in support of proposed and newly designated national marine sanctuaries.
  • Edit video footage to produce videos based on concepts and scripts for web and social media.
  • Create and organize transcripts of interviews.
  • Develop and implement workflows for post-production and color pipelines.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Create motion graphics.
  • Edit photos.
  • Ensure products meet Section 508 requirements, including closed captioning and text descriptions for video products.
  • Submit film products to film festivals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications:

  • Possess a strong work ethic and be a self-starter.
  • Familiarity with using video-editing software, preferably with the Adobe Creative Suite and Da Vinci Resolve software.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • 2 years video data asset management experience.
  • Online research experience.
  • Superior communication and organizational skills
  • Exceptional writing and copy-editing skills.
  • Leadership and time management skills.
  • Skill in writing about complex science and policy issues in plain language for a general audience.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to perform under tight deadlines and juggle multiple tasks and projects.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
  • Experience with Associated Press news writing style.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of national marine sanctuaries, ocean conservation, and marine science.
  • Adept with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
  • A sincere interest in and commitment to the national marine sanctuary mission.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of any or all of photo editing, motion graphics, 360°ree; workflows (Mistika VR).
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.

Compensation and Benefits: $55,000-$60,000 annually based on experience. The Foundation offers a competitive benefits package.
