Eagle Ridge Academy is a college preparatory high school located in Brighton, CO. With our strong focus on student achievement, students are ready to succeed at the college level by the time they graduate from ERA! ERA has one of the highest graduation rates in the Denver Metro area. Our students have the highest SAT and PSAT scores in School District 27J. On top of this, ERA graduates are accepted to 4-year universities at an average of 85%, and 2- or 4-year colleges at a rate of 100%. What support can do we offer our teachers?
ERA has a dynamic group of staff that are collaborative and supportive. You will receive specialized coaching from our experienced instructional coach as well as mentorship, and job-embedded, specific professional learning to support your individual success. ERA utilizes Teach Like a Champion teaching framework and professional development programs which includes techniques and strategies to increase student engagement, learning, and achievement. We believe these strategies help to foster high-quality teaching and learning, as well as enhance the overall academic performance of students.
About the Position:
Eagle Ridge Academy is seeking a motivated and self-starting Dean of Academics that leads with integrity, will serve as a collaborative team member who inspires students and staff, and that develops high-quality relationships within the educational environment. The Dean of Academics is primarily responsible for providing support for the educational process by providing observations and coaching to teachers, increasing rigor in the classroom, and using data as well as Teach Like a Champion techniques to help provide high-quality professional development. The position of Dean of Academics was established for the purpose of enriching and enhancing the school’s ability to maintain an environment that meets the educational needs of all our students in a safe environment. To this end, the Dean will be responsible for ensuring that high academic expectations are consistently communicated and maintained. The Dean of Academics will work with students, teachers, and parents to ensure a strong learning-based environment, centered around the culture, mission, and core values of the school.
The position will start on July 1, 2024, and will require some meetings and training in June.
Salary:
Commensurate with experience and education
Starting at $70,000/year

Required Qualifications include:
A valid Colorado Department of Education Teaching License or enrolled in an alternative licensure teaching program by the start of employment.
Colorado Department of Education “In Field” by CDE endorsement or qualifications to teach the posted subject area.
The ability to handle many complex tasks simultaneously.
The ability and interest to be part of a high-functioning team. (Having respected and trusted colleagues, preferably as teammates, makes the demands of teaching sustainable.)
The Ability and interest to learn continuously and to adapt to changing circumstances (student characteristics, curriculum, and so on).
A belief in empowering all children as owners of their own learning.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborates with the admin team to develop and align rigorous curriculum in every classroom
Collects instructional data to inform professional development, instructional coaching, and instructional evaluations
Helps to plan and lead professional development
Leads a highly effective mentor/mentee program as well as teacher induction program
Conducts instructional observations
Conducts instructional coaching sessions
Serves as the school's testing coordinator and attends all required trainings for this role
Collaborates with and helps to lead the school Instructional Leadership Team (ILT) as well as the school's Campus Advisory Team (CAT)
Serves as the textbook coordinator including keeping inventory of textbooks and collaborating with instructional staff as well as the admin team to select curriculum based on the textbook book cycle put in place by the admin team.
Attends and participates in grade level team meetings
Attends and participates in department team meetings
Attends and participates in Multi-tiered System of Supports (MTSS) team meetings
Collaborates with the admin team for school improvement planning
Works with the threat assessment team when necessary to ensure the safety of students, staff, and the school
Serves as a Safe-2-Tell Responder
Helps with supervision before, during, and after school.
Works to establish and maintain a positive growth-oriented culture which reflects our core values.
Collaborates with students, teachers, and parents to ensure that all students are successful in our academically rigorous setting.
Collaborates with parents to increase their engagement with the school
Communicates clearly and effectively
Works with Media Coordinator to ensure student, staff, parent, and community awareness
Assists with supervision of student events and activities
Attends trainings as necessary
Other duties as assigned
Qualified Candidates must have:
A Master’s Degree
A valid Colorado Department of Education Teaching License
A minimum of 5 years teaching experience in a secondary classroom
The ability to obtain a Colorado Department of Education Administrative License within one year of employment.
The ability and interest to be part of a high-functioning team.
The ability and interest to learn continuously and to adapt to changing circumstances.
The ability to lead with our mission statement and core values at the forefront of all decisions.
Preferred candidates will have all items listed under the “Qualified Candidates must have” section as well as:
A Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership or Curriculum & Instruction
A valid Colorado Department of Education Administrative License
Experience in a leadership role
Experience implementing Teach Like a Champion techniques
