General Description Responsible for managing the day to day operations of network infrastructure and virtual environments. Diagnoses and troubleshoots issues with network configuration, virtual servers, telephone system, switches, wireless networks, and network hardware. Responsible creating, and maintaining a disaster recovery plan. Leads the network architecture design and optimization. Interfaces with other Network Engineers to manage or assist with problems. Provides technical support and guidance to the different stakeholders.
Essential Functions - Designs, installs, maintains and trouble shoots all data, wireless and telephony network related devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and network security devices ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Ability to understand and carry out oral/written instructions, provide documentation of all systems, perform unassisted repairs or implementation as required, work in a team environment and perform general stakeholder support.
- Coordinates technical and administrative needs in support of installation and maintenance of Toho Water Authority equipment.
- Architecture and development of robust network infrastructure solutions that meet the organization needs for scalability, reliability, and security.
- Lead the planning, implementation, and optimization of network projects, including LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and cloud networking initiatives.
- Develop and implement strategies for network automation to improve efficiency and accuracy of network operations.
- Conduct in-depth troubleshooting and resolution of network issues, minimizing downtime and maintaining high availability.
- Collaborate with IT security teams to design and enforce network security measures, including intrusion detection systems, VPNs, and access controls.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers, promoting skill development and professional growth.
- Stay abreast of emerging networking technologies and trends, recommending and implementing upgrades and innovations to enhance network capabilities.
- Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversee the implementation of third-party solutions.
- Manage and support Virtualization Technologies VMware, Microsoft Active Directory Technologies, Cisco Call Center Technologies, Cisco Network Technologies, Backup Infrastructure, Storage Infrastructure, Web, Email and Antivirus Security Technologies.

Minimum Qualifications Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain that required qualification would be:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field.
- Minimum of five years relevant work experience.
- Must have a proven track record success in a Senior Network Engineer role or similar role with extensive experience in network design, implementation, and maintenance.
- Must have expertise in various networking protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), network security practices, and cloud networking solutions.
- Must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Class E Driver's License.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: - Must possess good problem-solving skills and work independently. A wide degree of creativity.
- Strong proficiency in network automation tools and scripting languages to streamline network operations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues effectively.
- Leadership qualities and the ability to mentor and develop junior team members.
- Outstanding communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, JNCIS, JNCIE)
